End of Watch Call
The End of Watch Call, also known as the Last Radio Call, is a solemn ceremony that takes place following the passing of a police officer. Typically occurring in the event of an officer's death while on duty, although occasionally due to illness, this ceremony brings together the officers from the fallen officer's unit or department. During the ceremony, the officers gather around a police radio as the police dispatcher initiates a series of calls to the officer. This is followed by a moment of silence, another call, and a subsequent silence. Finally, the dispatcher announces that the officer has tragically lost their life while fulfilling their duty.
